Biography

Originally from Moscow, Russia, Maks Slavin is a highly experienced and knowledgeable instructor, choreographer, and performer. With experience ranging from International Latin, Ballroom and Salsa, through Jazz, Hip-Hop and Modern, there's plenty in store for social dancers and competitors alike. Whether you want to learn how to dance like a pro, get lessons for your wedding day, or just have fun and learn something new, his classes offer insightful details for body movement, challenging and fun choreography, and numerous exercises to develop your dancing ability.

For most of his competitive career, Max has been part of the well-known: Kaiser Dance Academy, headed by Victor Kanevsky, and has worked with some of the most recognized and world-renowned instructors in DanceSport. Before retiring as a competitor, Max danced for three years with HaVi Le, representing Binghamton University and earning numerous titles in inter-collegiate championships. More recently, Max has been coaching couples from Binghamton University's Ballroom Dance Team, and is a frequent guest instructor at Ballroom Place Dance Studio (NJ) and Dance Chelsea (NYC).

Coaching

Throughout my competitive career and extensive training, I have worked with some of the most recognized and world-renowned instructors in DanceSport. They were not only able to elevate my dancing to new heights, but had inspired me take on a more active role in the dance community and develop my passion for dancing beyond the competitive world, into choreography and coaching.
